Feeling Along the Walls: Thoughts on Living and Working
On 22 and 23 June 2011, the American duo composed of the critic and curator Jesi Khadi and artist Paul Tyree-Francis will be visiting vessel.
More and more artists, curators and cultural workers are opening their homes as sites for projects and exhibitions. Domestic space offers an intimate and flexible site for artistic production and a rich, and at times conflictual, a framework for knowledge production and exchange.
In Feeling Along the Walls, Jesi Khadivi and Paul Tyree-Francis will present the “history” of their apartment gallery Golden Parachutes to frame a discussion about the possibilities and challenges of domestic curatorial models.
Golden PARACHUTES is a project space in Berlin directed by Jesi Khadivi and Paul Tyree-Francis. Founded in April of 2009, Khadivi and Tyree-Francis have used the storefront of their apartment for solo and group exhibitions, context-responsive projects, concerts, free-form jams, dinners, film screenings and presentations.
